Juan Chaves Valeriano
November 27, 1944 - February 11, 2025
On February 11, 2025 Juan Valeriano hung up his hat and went to be with the Lord. He recently moved to Rochester to be near his daughters but always remained a Texan at heart. He lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and a whole lot of good music. He found what truly mattered-faith, family, and the grace of God.
Music was the rhythm of his soul, and he had a chord for any occasion. You could always count on him to turn up the volume and sing along, whether he knew the lyrics or not. He was a self-taught musician and able to play the guitar, accordion, harmonica, and piano.
Juan had an abundance of pride and joy in his family. He is survived by his three children: Leanne Valeriano of Rochester, Melissa Valeriano of Rochester, and Ana Hanson of Plymouth, Minnesota, four grandchildren, his four beloved sisters, Beatrice Franco of Center, Tx, Rosa Ramsey of Port Arthur, Tx, Elizabeth Hernandez and Connie Sifuentes, both of Fort Worth, Tx, and many nieces and nephews. Juan is now enjoying reunions with his late loved ones: parents Jesus and Cruz Valeriano, brothers Mike, Ralph, Jesse and Victor, sisters Elisa Felipe and Carmen Martinez, and a beloved niece and several nephews gone far too soon.
While all of our hearts are broken, we will always find joy in remembering his smiling face, his jokes, his quick wit, and the way he would pick up a guitar, accordion, or whatever instrument was around, and just start playing.
He became a man of faith, redemption, and unwavering love. While he's no longer here to pick up a guitar or crack a joke, we know he's up there in heaven-copesthetic, at peace, and probably asking if they got any guitars around.
A celebration of his life will be held in Fort Worth Texas, on April 25, 2025 with more details to follow. In his honor, turn up some good music and share a laugh with someone you love.
